Bring More Gratitude into Your Life
Gratitude is one of those things that’s easy to overlook, but can bring a lot of positivity into our lives. Here are a few simple ways that you can practice gratitude daily!
Send A Gratitude Text
How many text messages do you send in a day? For most of us, that number is pretty high, but most of those messages are about things like what we’re doing or where we’re going next. The next time you send one of those messages, follow it up with an affirmation of something you are grateful to that person for or something to show them that you care. It could be as simple as “I love you” or “Thanks for everything that you do!”
Another take on this approach is to set a goal of sending one or two of these messages to someone on your contact list each day. This should be something out of the blue that may come as a pleasant surprise to the recipient.
Volunteering: Gratitude for the Community
On a broader scale, show gratitude to your community by volunteering for a cause you are passionate about. This could be anything from an animal shelter to a food pantry to a children’s organization. It’s hard to beat the rewarding feeling you get from helping others and contributing to the greater good. You don’t necessarily need to invest a ton of time to reap these benefits!
Make Time for Self-Gratitude
At the end of the day, the most difficult person to express gratitude for is often ourselves. We all have a tendency to put our own needs behind the needs of others in our lives. However, you should make a point to take time for yourself every now and again.
Self-gratitude can take multiple forms, but most importantly, it should be something you love to do. Go for a run, get a massage, curl up with a book — whatever you choose, it should be all about you. In the process, you’ll release natural endorphins that can help alleviate stress and give you a more positive outlook on the day!
