Simple Activities to Energize Your Day
If there’s one thing we all could use a little more of, it’s energy. Well, most of us anyway — I think we all know those people who are naturally perky and bursting with energy all the time.
If you’re not one of those lucky few, don’t lose hope. There are some simple activities you can do to add more energy to your day no matter where you are or how many things you have on your plate.
Get Physical
Exercise or physical activity of any kind is perhaps the most sure-fire way to boost your energy. The rush of endorphins you get from moving your body and working up a sweat is better than any cup of coffee or stimulant.
Try to make physical activity a part of your daily routine, even if it’s only for a few minutes. You don’t need to become a gym enthusiast to see a difference here — even walking for a few minutes on your lunch break or doing some strengthening exercises in the evening can have a huge impact on your overall physical and mental well being!
There are tons of exercise plans out there for all schedules and ability levels. Find one that works for you and give it a try. The good news is that you can always switch to something else if you find a particular regiment is not working for you.
Put Down Your Phone
Think about the times when you feel most mentally fatigued throughout the day; many of them probably involve looking at your phone. Studies have shown that smartphones change the chemical balance in our brains and lead to increased feelings of stress and anxiety.
Take a break from those feelings by disconnecting from your phone for at least a little while each day. You can literally do just about anything else and receive an instant boost of energy.
This “unplugged” time is a great opportunity to exercise, or maybe read a book or connect with a friend over coffee. No matter what you do, you’ll come away feeling more energized and ready to take on the rest of your day!
